Our Expression of Church Life

We believe that our calling is, along with others, to bring the kingdom of God to our community, our nation and to the ends of the earth. Our passion is to see many come to know Jesus for themselves, become part of the Church and follow Him in baptism by full immersion. We support local evangelism and international mission in prayer, finance and friendship.
Matt 28:19-20

Discipleship: We are called to grow and to become mature in our faith. We believe maturity comes through a mixture of teaching and training, exercising faith, perseverance in suffering, obedience and consistent service. Our aim is to encourage people to become mature and full of Christ, and to develop leaders at all levels of the church. We seek to live by the authority of the Bible and recognise the role of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to equip the church. Evidence of growth includes growth in holiness; Christ-like character and the fruit of the Spirit – as well as fruitfulness in witness.

Matt 28:19-20

Worship: Our desire is to worship God wholeheartedly in our everyday life. We know that time given in praise and intimacy with God is time when we are transformed into God’s likeness. We aim to give priority privately and corporately to being before God and worshipping Him. We expect to see the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit among us. Prayer and knowing the Bible are at the heart of our worship.Matt 22:37-39

Prayer: We recognise the importance of prayer and desire to be a church that is effective in this area. We believe in miracles, healing and deliverance and want God to demonstrate his supernatural power in answer to our prayer

Matt 6:5-15

Giving:  We believe in the Biblical basis of giving cheerfully and regularly of our ‘first fruits’ to God as a thanksgiving tithe and offering. This provides for the financial and practical aspects of Church to be covered – as well as providing support for Mission work and Christian projects (at home and abroad) and for gifts to be made to others in special need.

2 Corinthians 9:6-13

Serving: We want to be a church that cares for people. We want to serve the practical, emotional and spiritual needs of the community, selflessly and without prejudice. We will work with other churches and organisations when possible.

Within the church we recognise that many parts make up the body as a whole and  we want every member to discover the gifts that God has given them, and to fulfil that role whether in the local church or in wider fields of service.

Matt 22:37-39 and Romans 12: 4-13

Friendship: Our relationships both inside and outside the church demonstrate Christ’s work in our lives. We seek to love one another, serve one another and live transparent lives. As part of the family of God, we are committed to unity, loyalty and trust, encouraging each other and being ready to be led on further to live sacrificial lives in conformity to the word of God. We want to be a welcoming church, a family of all ages, drawing each other towards Jesus. As well as meeting all together we believe that small groups are vital for developing friendships and encouraging one another in discipleship.

Acts 2:42-47

Children: We believe that children are an important part of the church and can experience everything in God that an adult can. We long to see the children and youth grow in God, and to be active members of the whole body. We will listen and learn from their relationship and experience of God and strive to be role models for them. They are part of the church today, as well as the leaders and members of the church of tomorrow.

Matt 18:1-9

Unity: We recognise that no church has the exclusive authority to proclaim the Lordship of Christ to the community. Therefore, in partnership with the other churches, we seek to compliment each other’s work and never to compete. We will pray for, encourage and support each other as we proclaim the gospel and wherever possible work together for the benefit of the community and the advancement of the Gospel.
